Currency exchange

Polish currency is the Polish zloty (abbreviation - zł). It's international code is PLN.
1 złoty = 100 groszy (abbreviation - gr). Coins are: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 gr, and 1, 2, 5 zł. There are also 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 banknotes.

Foreign currency can be exchanged at airports, hotel receptions and banks and in many small exchange offices called "kantor" located all around the city centre. Currency exchange rates are available from the National Bank of Poland (NBP) - http://www.nbp.pl/homen.aspx?f=/srodeken.htm , daily newspapers, internet portals and banks.
International credit cards (VISA, Mastercard or Eurocard) are accepted in the majority of hotels, shops and restaurants, they can also be used in most cash machines (bankomat).
